Energy Market Risk Analysis – early May 2011

April ends on an uptick

Prices have remained lower than the highs of March and remain moderately stable. There are a surplus of supplies of energy and gas in the UK throughout the summer period and this will add downward pressure to prices. Previous increases in the cost of oil have been offset by the fall of the dollar. In a “supply and demand” market surplus of supply should lead to a reduction in prices.
