Annuals drop to 8-month low

It has been a fortnight of general weakness across energy markets, with UK gas and power slipping by more than some other sectors ̶ UK electricity witnessing price falls of 11% on the short-term market and up to 5% on the Annuals.

Prices have slumped across all gas periods in recent days. Unseasonably warm weather, heavy Norwegian imports, a drop in exports, reduced power station demand and UK gas storage sites reaching new record levels of fullness have all helped pound prices lower.
